About Conures

Conure are inhabitants of South American countries. They are mostly found in open woodlands, Savannas and rainforests of Central and South America. They are intelligent, peaceful and social birds as they like to stay in groups.

To train Conure is a challenging job. It requires skill and patience. Repeated praising and frequent treats encourage them to accept the training and learning process easily.

Health care of Conures is important. Special attention should be paid to their claws and beaks. To avoid boredom, they need to do quite a bit of activity and exercise. Conure love to take baths. This keeps their feathers sleek and shiny. Wings need to be trimmed regularly so that they don’t fly away.

Diet is the major and essential part of Conure care. The live on fruits, berries, nuts, flowers, insects, meal worm, etc.

Blue Crown Conure


Most intelligent bird among Conure, they live in the open forests of Venezuela, Brazil and Columbia. They are quite suited for human companionship. It requires skill to train them to be docile and performing different tricks and games. Don’t forget to pamper your Conure.

Blue Crown Conures require plenty of water and they feed on vegetables, seeds, fruits, etc.

Green Cheek Conure

It is a highly active bird with olive green body and wings and a maroon tail. They are playful, intelligent and can be trained to talk and repeat words.

They feed on fruits and vegetables.


Nanday Conure

Graceful, colorful, friendly and affectionate, Nanday Conures are the favorite among the parrot species. They have a brilliant plumage of green feathers with a more yellowish green color on the lower part. Their natural habitat is the open forests of Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil and Bolivia.

They are social birds and can learn tricks and speech easily. Their usual diet is fruits, vegetables, chopped eggs and cheese.


Sun Conure

They are a very colourful plumage of yellow and green, while bright fiery orange tinges their cheeks, forehead, abdomen and lower back. They are quite docile and friendly and are found in the rainforests of parts of Mexico, the Wets Indies, Central and South America.

Sun Conures feed on seeds, boiled vegetables, meats and fruits. They also drink plenty of fresh water in order to stay healthy and fit.


Jenday Conure

Generally found in Northern Brazil, Jenday Conures are great entertainers and very fun loving birds. They can learn quickly, especially from women and are good talkers. They have an orange front, green wings and a yellow head.

Along with a diet of nuts, berries, fruits and fresh vegetables, they also need constant supply of fresh water to drink.
